Elements Sauna is a wood-fired Finnish sauna on the grounds of TCR Hub at Shaw Bank, just outside Barnard Castle. It sits a few steps from a spring-fed lake, and staff supervise lake dips from the jetty. Dipping is optional.
A standard Sauna and Wild Swim session lasts 50 minutes and costs £15.50 per person, with up to eight people per session. Other sessions include female-only sauna and swim, a calm sauna, full moon evening sessions, guided sessions, breathwork and qigong with sauna. Private hire of the sauna and jetty is available for up to ten people.
Toilets, changing areas and a cold shower are on site, and visitors park at TCR Hub and follow signs to the jetty. Bookable sessions are for ages 16 and over, and 16 and 17 year olds must come with a responsible adult. Bring two towels, one to sit on in the sauna.
